community on this forum and elsewhere. Regardless of what your detractors might want people to think, Z1 can be an excellent source of technical assistance for the average owner. You guys are out there doing this stuff everyday. I do not think a warning like this would ever be initiated by a Nissan dealership. And if it were, it would be two years from now, buried in a TSB. This appears to be an issue of changing vendors. I bet Nissan changed subcontractors and the new supplier cut corners, or the design specs did not indicate a blind hole should be drilled. To speed production, they just drilled through the junction block...thinking the back plate weld would seal the hole. I see another opportunity for an aftermarket upgrade. Nissan is not going to track this part defect down and we are going to have to find a fix ourselves. gordo
